Why did Garry Conille and the Supporters of the Status Quo Refuse to Participate in the Haitian PM Candidate’s Debate? By Patrick Prézeau Stephenson (Le Français suit) The selection of a transitional Prime Minister in Haiti has always been a delicate task, marked by political tensions and divergent interests. Today, a new crisis is on the horizon as Gary Conille and the supporters of the status quo refuse to participate in a public debate proposed by the Presidential Transition Council (CPT) [1,2]. This article examines the reasons behind this refusal and the potential implications for the selection process. In the absence of a debate, we are releasing an independent evaluation scorecard for the remaining five candidates [3].
